Make no doubt about it. I use to steal software on a regular basis. Programs like WinZip, Macromedia Homesite, Paint Shop Pro. I stole them all years ago. But I grew a conscience. And I can proudly say I have paid for each and everyone of them and replaced others with open source programs.

I only buy programs that I can't do with out and are an incredible resource to have. And that is after I haven't found an open source equivalent.

I have used all the excuses I see you guys using, to justify what you do as being ok. But the bottom line is, what you're doing is wrong. And my hope is that, with the push of open source products, you will eventually all grow a conscience and stop stealing software and use a free alternative. There is really no excuse to steal.

I don't use P2P programs. Haven't had the need to use them.

he art not without sin, him admit say im used to teef... what he art is monified. not to suggest that piracy is warranted. jus correcting this without sin nonsense. but fi real still. is a funny ting, i cyaa drive pon road widout rakkle out mi teet, cyaa go school unless fee well fully paid, cyaa go hospital unless mi ha money inna pocket or valid plastic, cyaa run a business widout watch fi the extortionists in case i start doing too well (stone crusher anyone?) or the Revenue Protection Division.... and yet, ppl a pressure other ppl bout software piracy? i see the priority dem well line up still.

Don't kill the messenger for the message. P2P networks are very valid distribution channels.

You remember ftp/http site congestion when a New Linux Version or the Grand Theft Trailer came out ?

Without something like Bittorrent to pick up slack, the stuff would not have spread as fast.

I watch a lot of Revision3 shows, like Ctrl-Alt-Chicken. Without Bittorent downloading a 400 MB Vid File would be an excersise in frustration.
I leave them going, I seed. I can usually flood my DSL pipe with data. Everyone wins.

    Edited for content...
