Lightbulb This may very well be my first Nokia Smartphone

As a secondary bmobile phone ofcourse. Nothing will replace my Sony Ericssons. Just announced Nokia 6120 classic:

Nokia has made a second step into making Symbian smartphones a more affordable buy - the Nokia 6120 classic will be their new smartphone and much like the Nokia E50 it will be a fully functional smartphone on a budget.

The Nokia 6120 classic is a HSDPA-enabled device that comes powered by the well-known Symbian OS 9.2 with the 3rd edition of the Series 60 user interface. The powerhouse behind this well established OS is a 369 MHz CPU. The Nokia 6120 classic additionally has stereo Bluetooth support, a miniUSB jack, FM radio and a microSD memory card slot.

The goodies that it offers don't end here since the mobile also comes equipped with 2" 16M colors TFT display with a QVGA resolution, a 2 megapixel camera as well as a secondary frontal camera for video calls. And all of that is fitted into a compact body weighing only 84 g which practically makes it the lightest Nokia GSM smartphone ever.

The Nokia 6120 classic is expected to start shipping in Q2/2007 with an estimated retail price of only 260EUR.

All I've wanted Nokia to do...small frame but big on features. I always felt they could shave some inches and pounds off those huge smartphones. This one just about does it and has all the essential features.

And it says should start shipping in Q2. Q2 is between April and June so it's around the corner...just in time for my trip overseas. Let's hope the camera doesn't suck too much...then again, my primary multimedia Sony Ericssons have that lock.

And finally...more frontal camera for video call. Never see the point in them having 3G phones without frontal camera. They were far and few...since 3G rolling out this year can be useful.

    This Wiki info should clarify:
High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) (Sometimes known as High-Speed Downlink Protocol Access) is a 3G mobile telephony protocol in the HSPA family, which provides a roadmap for UMTS-based networks to increase their data transfer speeds and capacity. Current HSDPA deployments now support 1.8 Mbit/s, 3.6 Mbit/s, 7.2 Mbit/s and 14.4 Mbit/s in downlink.

Further speed grades are planned for the near future. The networks are then to be upgraded to HSPA Evolved, which provides speeds of 42Mbit downlink in its first release.[1]

In addition to supporting high data speeds, HSDPA greatly increases the capacity of the network. Current HSDPA networks have the capacity to provide each customer with 30 gigabytes of data per month in addition to 1000 minutes of voice and 300 minutes of mobile TV.
