    Default Win Media Player How to clear recent playlist

    I'm using win media player 7 and would like to know how to clear the list of recently played files from the File menu. Ihave already tried the clear button on the Start>Settings>Taskbar and start menu>Advanced.Using Win Me.

    For Media Player 7 you would have to either use a tweak or simply edit some entries in your registry.

    To edit the entries in your registry:
    1. run regedit;
    2. locate the following key and sub-key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\P layer\RecentFileList;
    3. To remove the entire file list that you recently played, clear the [...\RecentFileList] sub-key.

    That should do it for you

    Of course I need to mention here that editing your registry can be hazardous to your health and the TechJamaica.com Surgeon General strongly advises against it ;D

    If I'm not mistaken, newer versions of Media Palyer include an option to clear the list.

    And next time, don't let me hear of you watching those movies again or I'll tell your girlfriend.
