My biggest mistake was upgrading to vista home premium that hp offers as a free upgrade Well before upgrading my media center was working just fine but after not being happy with the vista and planning to switch back to media center i am getting this problem whenever i start media center it says the following and i cannot watch videos in media center please help me out i would really appreciate it and how do i know what kind of video card i have in my laptop.

I had the same problem w/MCE on my laptop and finally just did a complete re-install instaed of upgrade or repair.

Sounds like the drivers for your graphics card need to be upgraded to become Vista compatible? That may not be as easy to find or available yet. Some drivers still lagging behind but if you use a major video card from Nvidia or ATI then probably they have drivers already?

first place to check..manufacturer website for available vista drivers update...i.e hp site in your case.. if that doesnt work out u can always check the video card manufacturer website..
Guys i switched back from vista to media center i do not use vista

Terminator, you have an NVIDIA graphic card (most likely 6800 gt/ultra). Simply download and install the drivers from HP's webpage (http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/...splay=drivers). You made no mistake in reverting back to MCE.
