What would you recommend to replace Norton that uses far less resources but still provide good security? I have a new machine that came with Vista Home and norton, what can i use?
Get zone alarm, its way better than that norton crap.

ok. I thought zone alarm was just for managing program access to the internet. I need an antivirus replacement for the norton, can that be used? I also hear talk about this free AOL Active virus shield or something like that, but I don't know anybody who actually has it installed that can tell me if it's better and lighter.

Good question, pity they didn't bother to review it with Kaspersky Internet Security 6, but I guess they were waiting on an updated version.

It got a good rating but they recommended Zone Alarm Internet Security instead.

edit: How ironic, guess which antivirus package is included with Zone Alarm's suite, none other than Kaspersky.

    i use it

AOL active virus shield uses kaspersky's anti-virus engine which is the cream of the crop.

once you test it you wont look back...unless you're gonna go buy kaspersky

Going through these reviews I decided to use Nod32, Zone alarm internet security suite with anti-spyware but this one has no anti-virus, plus I aslo run adaware se and avg anti-spyware they all work very well. Although still there are better protection software than these.

I have been using AVG which is free for download and you get regular updates. So far it works OK. My problem is getting a free virus scan for my server because it's expired. Ever heard of KasperKey
