    Default Howto Port VB Applications To Linux

    Windows developers can now port Visual Basic applications to Linux without modifying their code, using an open source project backed by Novell.

    The Mono project has built a compiler that lets developers code using Visual Basic inside Visual Studio or other preferred tools environments and run the Visual Basic code on non-Windows platforms without the time and cost of modification.

    I thought mono was for .net applications only?

    or does it also do vb6?

    They have been referring to VB.Net as VB alot these days, so it might be referring to .Net
    I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

    The is a Basic compiler know as Real Basic which can compile applications for Windows, Linux and Mac

    I doubt it....As long as you got Mono and the component installed it should work....

    I think it does support vb6..But I won't know for sure unless I or someone else tries it.
