In time you will see that learning Linux will make you a better Windows administrator. We went into quite a bit of detail about Windows DNS and Active Directory. I hope you now understand DNS on Windows a lot better than you did before.
Networking is networking. Doesn't matter if you are using Linux or Windows. Once they use the same protocols, we can integrate them.
Yes i do understand DNS some what better now and i'm looking to get a hard or soft copy of the DNS and BIND book.
i installed the Kubuntu distro that was handed out at the meeting but am having a slight problem. i installed in vmware and trying to install vmware tools so i can get the screen displayed properly but when i run the install it aborts and say i should run the app again as super user. how do i accomplish this? also i notice that when installing the distro it doesnt ask for a password for the root account like what i have experienced installing fedora. so now i'm not able to log in as root.
