    Default SURVEY: High Speed Wireless Internet Service

    I have been asked to solicit the assistance of all TechJamaicans (members and browsers) in completing an online survey relating to a high speed wireless Internet service. The link is HERE and I trust that you will take a few moments to complete it. Thanks in advance.

    I heard at a seminar a while back that ....a company would be launching a wireless service somewhere in the vicinity of emancipation park. not At&T or C&W or Digicel or Centenial or Gotel

    I'm not speaking for this company, but I strongly suspect that they're not going to be limited to that area

    I would think that they will go wherever significant demand is. As more info comes out there may be the opportunity for the westerners to make requests I'm sure.

    You are correct, business will follow the demand. We have to start somewhere. Here is a little teaser, real speed test done this morning at our office in Kingston

    ::: Download Stats :::
    Connection is: 2787 Kbps about 2.8 Mbps (tested with 579 KB)
    Download Speed is: 340 KB/sec
    Auth Code: 2041806 (validate at http://www.testmy.net)
    Bottom Line: 50 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 3.01 second(s)

    i still plan to move to jamaica by next year, and would be happy to just get broadband internet service at a cheap price when i move there, because if i could get that, i could simply hook up my wireless router to the broadband and make my internet connection wireless which is what i do now here in the states

    its good to know though that high speed wireless is being considered now
