    Default Investing in Stocks

I've been investing in stocks and it has its benefits.

Personally I have a diverse portfolio consisting of about 10 or 12 companies.

Top Performers being BNS and JMMB and some other coming up behind them. I also have a couple of units in the JMMB Select Fund Class A.

BNSJ - Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Ltd.
    GDY - Goodyear Jamaica Ltd.
DBG - Dehring, Bunting & Golding
FCIBJ - First Caribbean International Bank Jamaica
CCC - Carib Cement Company Ltd.
LOJ - Life Of Jamaica Ltd.

    Thanks for the info devnull.

It can't hurt more than what frequent lotto and cash pot players have lost.

Exactly, Thats who manages all my account.

I experimenting with DB & G and so far they don't look like they gonna make the cut. Opened a stock trading account and went their wednesday to deposit some money and their system was down so I could even deposit the money, I just went and put it in my JMMB account.

Joining up with JMMB first I guess kinda set my expectations real high.

Might check out Capital and Credit Merchant Bank, Barita and some others to see who I like, but for now its JMMB.

: I remember investing in CIBC in the late Eighties. For two years I watched my stocks drop to almost nothing. Not thatany other stocks fared any better.

My dad was tellin me about that, he lost about 60g's back then.

Question, If you had stocks back then would they still be valid today even if the company merged or changed names or something?

More people investing in equities these days since the interest rates on the secondary market are trending downwards. Also companys have been posting some strong results. Let's see what impact the prevailing economic conditions have on the market as time goes on.
