firstly remove the 2 from the @mysql_select_db($database).
question why don't you use phpmyadmin to create the table?
no it's not going to create a virtual database. wait have you created the "james" already?

yeah owen james was created in phpmyadmin first then i wrote the script, the script gives no error but i see now table in the database "james". don't know y. i getting tired of this i may just actually create the databased in phpmyadmin. i just hope i don't have any issues inserting , deleting aand querying etc.
