What i meant was the ppl on the 6 month thing wont have to worry bout the price changing till next year. Everybody else screwed

Why can't we just get the settings and do it ourselves??
Who said u cant... if u can wait on customer care im pretty sure they'll tell u what to do. Hopefully ur not dealing with a no0b

Lets say u setitup urself and your getting 2.4mb instead of 3mb, more than likely u gonna call customer care & complain how it slow and bla bla bla... at the end of the day u say "send a technician fi check it out nuh"
    Just my thoughts...

Sounds like a plan - will try that.
The trouble with learning from experience
is that the test comes first and
    the lesson afterwards

i get a max download of 320kb/s on the 3mb

upgraded other connection they were messing with the settings and the modem showed almost 5mb but then they changed it back and said a technician needs to come. so until they schedule teh technician they put it back to the 1mb

Hi .. nice stats, could you provide us with a bit more information? I am particularly interested in what line modulation CWJ is using for this upgrade. The old pppOa packages used DMT (ANSI G.992.1) as you see in my telnet session here. Does your package use a different line modulation eg Adsl2+ ??

you can check my telneting to your modem :

I have been waiting three weeks to get the 2MB upgrade and I'm still at 256k.After the first week I called and they told me it can't be done by remote and a technician has to visit.A couple days ago I asked 'em what's going on and they keep givin' me excuses so i asked 'em if I can do it myself and they said "no".

It dawned on me that it might have something to do with PPPOA->PPPOE after remembering that the old business package 1544(T1) uses bridged PPPoE.

Yeah, it's all about PPPoE.I found it on C&W's website.check out this link:

    http://home.cwjamaica.com/content/pr...ge_details.php
    Look beside "Type of Connection".

Oh,Rx,G.992.1 is capable of 8 mbps so they (C&W) probably haven't changed the line modulation (to ADSL2,etc..).
