Re:Chatroom Project v2 - online
I think you should find a way to elliminate the refreshing. I have done it with javascript on asp pages.

I needed it to work in all browsers so I couldn't depend on any IE tricks.
And : bizniz dreamweaver will only take you so far, you'll have to walk the rest of the way.

Virus it works just the same you can't even tell the diffencence on 56k dialup. It sends 1kb both ways when it's idle.

I don't know how you found that page but that is actually an older much more complicated version. it only works on my localhost, I re-wrote the current version making it simpler, faster, have fewer files and more over better.

Re: Chatroom Project v2 - online
hey have anyone thought about overcoming refreshing by using the php with flash and probably a java backend or something, or it could just be php and flash but i think that there will be a delay this way.

Re: Chatroom Project v2 - online
Updated the chat room from version 2.03 to 2.1.
main changes;
- new text formating options
- hot text
- big text
- start new heading - text
- bold text
- emphasized text
- blockquoted text
- program code
- image link (enter http://...jpg url )
- image link 2
- list items (separate each with "
- " )
finally now it uses xmlhttprequest so the IE users should no long hear a "click sound" when the room refreshes

whatever name you started with - you have to stick with. it is slow, refreshes ever 5 secs.
