The only downside, is that it causes your system to lag.
I found it really cool all the same as my laptop has 4 USB 2.0 ports.
To each of these ports, I've inserted 1 blank 1GB flsh drive.
Hence I played NFS:MW with approximately 4.5GB of RAM.

The actual performance didn't improve significantly, as I only got it to run @ 56 frames per second as opposed to 47 fps without it.

from 47 to 56 not significant what would be sinificant for you. you know that is like 20%

I borrowed 2GB of physical RAM from a friend, just to test it out further.
I actually got 73fps. Moral of the story, is that you can never replace real RAM.

hey ready boost is a great idea for all u non hard ware specifics think of it when ur system runs out of system ram what does windows do? use virtual memory!!!!and ever heard ur hard drive ticking? this is because its being overworked used as ram!!!! and goes bad even faster

also most flash drives have a realy low write time
i can point u all to some patriot tho what has 32mb read speed and 26-28mb write speed n holds 4gb of data
this will greatly help perfromance

this method was never meant to improve performance greatly but just help users out

any one want soem home work? if u have a flash drive n windows xp go and diable virtual mem on all physical hard drives and enable it on your flash drive plz ensure u have a 512 mb or higher drive if ur doing this its a bit faster than slowing down ur poor hard drive isnt it u reduce acces to ur hard drive making your computer feel free but anyways this idea isnt new to me but i dont like the transfer rated on most flash drives cause their between 6mb read 2mb write an max 10mb read and 4mb write

wont give u stellar perfromance but it will reduce bottlenecks n free up your hard drive from virtual memory thus improving pwerfromance

im here using a fully legal version of vista yes the nice windows people sent me a cd key

im using a 1.4ghz pentium 4 on 768mb sdram and honestly im soo very impressed tho i do admit it uses a lot of memory 300 in idle to be exact but what realy impresses me is that it runs sooooo smooth it isnt funny!!!
im using the 32 bit version my only regret is i dont have a dx9 video card to see other features of vista but compared to how windows xp fealt i am truly impressed this is the first time i can say windows actually improved performance instead of just raising requirements!!!!

persons who have limited ram may not be very please as ive not tested with 512 but it truly shines on 768 ive yet to realy put this windows into the corner n hit it with some benchmarks but when i get my next computer that will definately be done to my full satisfaction
