Ok, I wasn't thinking about terminal. Yeah, you have a point.

Make sure to find out from the developers if the software is supported over terminal services. This is very important.

What you think about Linksys BEFVP41 Router ? This is my choice of getting the job done. It has VPN and ipsec.

I would recommend the use a dedicated VPN solution. The security features in these routers are not as extensive as those available in dedicated solutions.
