    Default harddrive Error

Im get an error when i start my computer saying:

    IDE DRIVE INSTALLATION ERROR
for best reliability and performance, please change the stand alone slave drive to master, system hault

i understand the error but i keep getting it no matter what the settings be, i set the jumper pins to master and cable select and im still getting the error

i can get into the bios but i cant get into the boot manager, its just stuck at the screen where you see the speed of the pc and the drives autodetecting etc.

    ANY ASSISTANCE WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Have you tried a CMOS clear and complete power disconnection. Could the HDD cable be damaged, at the part where you connect it to the HDD.
