Checking out this topic. Interesting stuff.

1.8mil @ C&W/Lime starting salary as a network engineer with 40k per month transportation. Not very interesting though.

1.2 mil @ IBM technical sales specialist. A fair amount of freedom and flexibility within departments.

bad part is...before I would have been more than content with those salaries, very happy in fact. But funny enough the job I'll actually accept hasn't much to do with IT at all, brand new field for me and much better pay.

oh btw, qualifications are currently...Bsc, A+, Linux+, Net+, CCNA and MCSE (CCNP pending)
life is a game, and i'm a gamer, but my computer needs an upgrade

money is nice, but it wont work-out if the work environment and job satisfaction ain't no good. I am hoping to satisfy these factors with me next employer.

It was the same thing for me at my last company. I have a programming and Application Development background. So i had to learn a lot of hardware stuff on the go. Was getting well over a mil tho.

in regards to certs i have realize that a lot of persons in Jamaica tend to do the courses for certification at institutions and after completing the course they think they are automatically certified without doing the international exam.
