Adobe Illustrator CS2, it has a feature called Live trace, VERY useful when it comes to digitalizing images.

You can also try Inkscape (www.inkscape.org).

"Inkscape is an Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw, or Xara X using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format... Supported features include bitmap tracing... It imports formats such as JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and others and exports PNG as well as multiple vector-based formats."

To get an idea of its tracing capabilities, you can check out the bitmap tracing tutorial from the Inkscape User Documentation at http://www.inkscape.org/doc/tracing/...l-tracing.html

    Hope this helps.
