Angry I got charged to import a used PDA!!!

Is this right? Would a PDA be classified as a computer therefore being exempt from customs duties?

The PDA cost me $44k and i had to pay 20k to clear it..

does anyone have any document listing the items that are taxable?

PDAs are considered as an electronic handheld device. It is more considered a phone than a computer. But 66k for a used PDA son?? My word. You probably should've refused to pay and then ship it back to the location it was sent from. then send it to someone and ask them to carry it down for you. Sure it takes longer and is more trouble but I'm sure you'd be more content with 20,000 still in your pocket.

Spirit Air is a cheap airline company. I think it's 99US to go to miami.

Duty on Phones/PDA's is 40%, there is a thread here somewhere on how to calculate Duties, so $20,000 on a $40,000 PDA is about right.

For the record a PDA is a:

    Consumer Electronic Item
Free Thinkers are those who are willing to use their minds without fearing to understand things that clash with their own customs, beliefs for privileges. This state of mind is not common, but it is essential for right thinking; where it is absent, discussion is apt to become worse than useless.
