Default Problem LAN card - Using Ethernet Cable

Tried to connect and got a message that says 'low or no connectivity....' This is via ethernet and the LAN connection. CW agent was not able to solve the problem via phone, but assisted me to set up the USB connection. He said that something may be wrong with the LAN card in my laptop and I may need to check it out.

    Any advice?

    Peace.

I was over someone's home over the weekend looking at a USB/Ethernet modem. The guy had the same problem trying to hook up one computer to the USB and one to the ethernet. The ethernet portion would not work, even with the USB unplugged.

Since I did not have time to diagnose the problem, I advised him to just plug the USB into which ever computer needed Internet at that time and consider exchanging the modem for one with multiple ethernet ports.

Yours may be a similar problem.

Ping localhost 127.0.0.1 to know if your NIC is the problem, no response = bad network card.

pinging 172.0.0.1 doesnt have anything to do with the physical nic.

I keep 2 DSL modems just in case I need to diagnose said problems
