Default K3b - For All Your Burning Needs :)

Hey guys, this program is now able to burn DVDs!!! Didn't test that feature though, just upgraded today to "backup" a music cd.

Grab the rpm packages and take this program for a spin...

Redhat rpms can be found here http://k3b.xcyb.org/#Other_packages_you_may_want_to_use
Or if you choose you may download the following files directly: (I will include all the other rpms to make sure your'e using the best of the best ;D)
    http://rpms.xcyb.org/redhat/9/stable...8.rh9.i386.rpm

    http://fenrir.infoiasi.ro/%7Excyborg...2.rh9.i386.rpm

Some users may also need to grab the id3lib rpm:
    ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/freshrpms/redhat/9/id3lib/id3lib-3.8.3-5.fr.i386.rpm

kind of a silly question... but anyway... igodit is right... its the Linux version (direct fom the developers) and it should come with all the recent distros....

I especially love the ability to burn DVD's.

IgodIt, the version that comes with SUSE 9.0 can burn dvd's and do all the fancy new stuff, as Matronyx "advertised", but there is an error.

If you try to make an AUDIO CD from MP3's; the version of K3b that comes with SUSE 9.0 (ver 0.10) will only make a data CD containing the MP3 files themselves.

The developers forgot to enable the DECODER code (./configure).

This bit of code, converts the MP3's into wav files for burning onto the CDDA format of an AUDIO cd.

Thusly if you want to brrn pure AUDIO cd's you must upgrade your version of K3b to the 0.10.2 or 0.10.2-cvs that Matronyx has shown.

Its at the packman website. I read the SUSE Support Database errata... before I installed SUSE

Apparently there not in a rush to fix it because they also placed KCDBAKEOVEN in their distro... also has the features that K3B has, just not as pretty. BAKOVEN is fully operational.

IgodIT there is also a pain in the *** issue regarding security when burning CD's with SUSE 9.0... but you know me... I won't tell you... find out for yourself.
