What is PHP all about??

hi guys i am planning to learn PHP, but i am lil lost at the moment, i was wondering if anyone could tell me a lil about it..................

i would also like to know wat is te name of the programming language that u use to write it in?...............so that i can see if i can get a hand on it

and if u guys can send me links to some good php tutorial sites

guys i also want to learn to use oracle db, i am assuming sincei know microsft sql, and the sql language is unersal is jus the application of oracle i need to learn how it implemnts sql language??

easyphp was giving me some errors so i downloaded a tol that configured my IIS to run .php files instead............thanks anyway, thats why i was asking because easyphp was giving problem
