Accelerated X11 Flame Wars!
3D graphics on X11: XGL vs AIGLX. This article delves into the inner workings of XGL and AIGLX. It shows that there are many similarities between these two competing/co-operating "rivals" and plenty of room for growth.

Well, I'v seen most of the videos for Xgl, so initially I prefered that. From reading the article its seems that AIGLX is technically a bit better, NVIDIA seems to thing so too and are backing AIGLX. I would say these 2 technologies are like Xfree86 and Xorg, eventually one will get phased out. But im looking for Xegl which allows direct manipulation of the linux frame buffer.
Its a matter of personal preference and I prefer Xgl.
