web server helpp

I have an web server running apache and tomcat, I have my company e-mail app on the server, this was made by the company. When I put the e-mail app.. on a windows computer and run it, it works ok but when I put it on the linux box I get an error that the smtp port is block, I have no firewall on the box. Can anyone help me out?????

u sure there isnt a built in firewall in your distro? i know ubuntu has one and you have to use firestarter to configure it using gui. what distro are you using?

please ensure that postfix is not running on the computer in question as I beleive this will cause some problem for you.
