I would go 32 bit I have never come across a version of 64 bit that supports my habits not XP, Vista and now Windows 7 I have tried running 64 bit with all those application and I'm almost positive that you WILL find a software that will not run properly with a 64 bit OS even though most of them support the ability to run 32 bit programs even going as far as to make a Program Files Folder strictly for 32 bit it does not apply for all 32 bit programs so of them won't even install one which comes to my is Zone Alarm but I have come across other software if you are a power user and you run and test a lot of different types and varieties of software I would not recommend a 64 bit OS to you but if you have already done your research and you know for a fact that everything that you are planning on getting has 64 bit support then to get the best performance out of them you can go 64 bit with Windows 7
