Open Office (www.openoffice.org).
Open the document and choose to convert it to a pdf. Real fast and simple. I create my manuals in Writer (Word) and Calc (Excel). I then choose
file
export as pdf
End of story.
I used to use a free print to pdf software where you just print your document on that printer and it gets saved in a pdf format, unfortunately I can't remember the name of it now but search for "print to pdf" in google, maybe you will find it. If you have money then there also adobe distiller.
lol I do something similar too, I install the generic postscript printer driver and
just print to that printer, the output is a .ps file. I then go to a linux box and use
ps2pdf to convert it to pdf since people generally dont have ghostscript
Ok, thanx for the responses, i see they can be used to print like word documents..etc
@ twistedpair i assume these print to pdf softwares can also convert images (.jpg .gif etc)

I use Fine Print's PDF Factory. It's not free though. It works as a printer driver, you send the document, image, etc. to print to the driver and it comes out as a PDF. The non-paid version sticks a small website address in the bottom left corner of the document.

I use PDF reDirect which is used as a printer driver. Just print to it and it converts it to a pdf file. It is free to use. http://www.exp-systems.com/PDFreDirect/

Is it safe to assume Acrobat distiller is not free?
