I just did a preliminary check with a Win2K PC and I didn't see a USB option, only serial and parallel ports, so I guess USB is out of the picture.

Thanks Tech_Guru, this looks like a really great product. If/when I need to do a lot of file transferring between PCs, this is definitely a product to consider, esp. at US$50 For this one-off need I'll use the cheaper parallel laplink cable ;D.

Floopy is pretty much outdated !! who uses Floppy anymore??

I guess you mean the 250MB Zip Disk.. what would work great in that situation also is the new 750ZIP disk that Iomega release recently!!!

Yep a new drive and new disk capacity all of 750MB in it (backward compatable with 250 and 100MB Zip of course)

Again all these are pretty time consuming depending on the amount of data that one has to move...

Perhaps Sandor wishes to return to the "sneakers" network days....

For those on the cutting edge, you can try the thumb drive.

I like it, but I just can't seem to shell out the >$600 for the 1gig drive, which to me, is the only practical one.

Well I ended up using the parallel to parallel direct cable connection. It wasn't working at first, but after doing some tests, I realised that the printer software on one PC was bugging up the connection. After uninstalling it the connection worked OK and got 4.0Mbps. I think the best compromise would be to use a serial to serial cable.
