Re:RPC Shutdown
hahaha....they havent a clue what hackers look like or anything else for that matter. believe.
since when did the abused mind becomes the inquisitive one?
maybe some could answer sometimes under that title but certainly not all of them.
most of these guys have tight knit mates and communities with languages devoted to their own.
the hackers i know are bright, witty, full of social conscience, highly intelligent - bordering on to autistic ( <---- look it up, its a classified mind type, sometimes caused by brain damage but not always) people.
they have a well defined and developed concept of freedom or control.
they can be dark too. with humour so sublime, it makes yur skin crawl.
anyway, thats just the ones i know...... ;D
btw, they all have girl or boy firends, go out clubbing, like music, make noise, drink and neva seem to wanna grow old.....
i guess i dont get to mix with the rest...hehehehe
and dem earn too much money compared to my measly wage >

Talk to Ropy fi mi yah Crypto him must lick him head. ZoneAlarms protects windows and Windows is the problem. Imagine a security company is paid to protect an old, derelic, board house that is already breaking to pieces, what good is that or would that be? We just have to do what we have to do as PC users cause Micro$oft won't do it for us and the little help that we get from them we should accept it.
I had already made a post in the following thread http://www.techjamaica.com/tech_foru...79&start=0

Re:RPC Shutdown
I really feel sorry for all those guys who put out such a valiant effort to patch, secure M$ windows.
It should be very hard to do so especially when the source code is not open and protocols standards are ever changing into what M$ deems correct.

Re:RPC Shutdown
People just need to start focusing on quality software rather than pushing out something quickly with plenty bells and whistles.
It's just simple logic:
Plenty code = Plenty risk of their being bugs
bugs = risk of security vulnerabilities
They need to scale down the code and have better quality assurance.

Re:RPC Shutdown
true....but then you get les capability and features.
also, remember that xp and 2000 is meant to be the allinone os for windows. it incorporates the flexibilty of 98 and the security of nt.
i still give microsoft plenty kudos for offering an os that is so modern and up to speed with most current technology out there.
not simply cause i use it alone but really, because in just so short a time, it has really evolved to be a very advanced system than the days of msdos.
lots of apps today owe their strength to the advances of this os.
i want it to survive and continue but not in a vein where it becomes too protected and selfish. it should have the lil bubbles and kinks.....after all, what would we get the chance to gripe about or even to fix.
your jobs would become non-existent then. ;D

So what you saying Matro, you won't be patching ??? ???
Aren't we all as Techies in this together...........
Most companies I know of locally are running Windows based systems.......
