ZoneAlarm Lock

Im Running the free version of ZoneAlarm (version:6.0.631.003), when i lock it, it blocks everthing from accessing the net ... Id like for AVG to still be able to go on the net to get updates ... how do i do that .. or is that feature only in ZoneAlarm Pro ?

Open Zone Alarm.
Click Program Control from menu on the left.
Click the Programs tab at the top.
Scroll through the list of programs until you find Zone Labs Client.
Left click in the Lock column for the progam and select Pass Lock.
A picture of a key should show for the program.

When you lock zone alarm, all programs that you have set to pass the lock will still be able to connect to the internet.

Yeah it does .......

i locked it lastnight, but got up this morning the network connection died because of no activity, had to do a repair on it then reboot my Modem .. is that normal, cant i set it not the disable itself when there is not activity ?

I believe what you are looking for is in the Device Manager. There should be a setting for your Network Adapter for Power Management. Remove the tick from "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

Are you running the same version of ZoneAlarm as me ?

I'm not sure what version. It would be the latest one, I assume. It informs you if there are any newer versions. I use Zone Alarm at home only, at work we use something else.

Do use the lock feature , just trying to get feedback from somebody that actually set it up the allow some programs to access while its locked ..

I've used it many times before. Especially when I see some internet activity I am unaware of. Just lock down the internet and keep certain programs access.
