    I'm not sure of the release price for XP ... but its now selling for about $299 U.S. so im wondering if Vista will be about $350-400 U.S

    remember the price for xp when it just came out?
    think somewhere close to the 800 dollar reigion... and dont even think about Vista Pro prices.

    If Xp does the job why worry about Vista. But for people on windows 3.x,95,98 or ME .Its a big step.

    $800 , I don't recall seeing it being sold for that or anywhere in that region. You must be talking about a computer that came with it . I think the cost was around $300 - $400.
