    Arrow Windows Vista "Beta Testing"

Well I finally recieved my copy of Windows Vista Beta 1 build 5112.

This is a listing of the specs that I used for Vista!
    PCCHIPS P4 M955G V3.0A Motherboard
Intel Pentium 4 1.80a ghz processor
    256mb DDR Memory
    64mb Geforce 2 Mx 400 video card
    10 gig Western Digital Hardrive

Okay installation took more than a hr maybe it might be less for some folks, but I left it, had dinner came back and it still was installing.

WOW I was really impressed with the look of this OS the screenshots online lies, its better to see it in person. For those folks who have flatscreen all the better.

Well I wanted that transperency look for vista so on hand I had nvidia's Forceware display driver for vista.
I proceeded to install the Windows Vista graphics driver for my Nvidia card when I got this message
"The Nvidia Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware.Setup will now exit.

To get the transparency look in Vista one has to get the special Nvidia or Ati drivers. I dont know about Prosavage or Intel cards.
Ati drivers for Vista Beta 1
nVidia drivers for Vista Beta 1

Alright so that didnt work out, I wanted to access the internet,DSL is not installed yet, so my only access at home was gprs.Would my Motorola Modem driver work? Well it came up with a message about Longhorn signature not passed 'similar to the one for xp so I continued and all is well.

Although there is more to test out, still its a "BETA". I am really impressed with the speed of the OS itself.Applications launch much faster than Xp and the startup time is faster.

Finally Internet Explorer 7 now has tabs like Firefox.

Well this is it for now, anyone else testing vista can inform us on what works for them so far and what doesnt work.
