Default have you heard of all the DRM that MS has put into Vista?

digital rights management, it protects high quality and subscription DVDs and video streams.

its insane. if a content owner (such as Universal Studios, or Disney etc, etc) wants to they can have Vista turn off your display adapter to prevent someone from emulating a hardware device and recording the DVD or stream

they can also limit the HDDVD or Blu-Ray DVD resolution by going through a resolution downgrader followed by an upgrader so that HD DVD or Blu-Ray DVD or a HD stream will appear fuzzy and will not be the high def content you paid for.

MS has turned into the best friend of the RIAA.

yes....and another reason why people shouldnt rush to take the plunge....
ms are hoping to control what you do and when you do it.....the ms way....
why bother when xp is still functional and does all you need....
besides....vista from what i have seen is like the Win ME of 98 for xp....
no thanks.....im trying to reduce my xp footprnt with a reduced cut size setup.....not expand it to bloating level.....

We will be soon forced to rush into vista anyway, when they stop providing drivers and software for win xp.Remember its all about money.Either you keep up or forget about pcs.
