    Default Info on Linux

    Can ya'll help me by giving me some kool/relevant links about linux? Stuff like screenshots, features, bugs (if any), the latest version etc...yes I could browse the net for stuff! But I'm hoping that seasoned techies can point me to GOOD sourcies that I can use to educate myself!

    Heard that SUSE is quite nice, d'd it but still yet to try it.

    You the guy at the Horizon EXPO, from Alteroo told me that Linux was FREE, comes with tonns of software and doesn't need and antviurs...so I went diggin' last night and came accross a whole heap a sinting...I saw couple of stuff I have to buy and I was confused coz him seh it free...anyway a got a copy of Alteroo Linux and Imma download Ubuntu later and try it on one of the PCs at work..

    What sites did you go to? Linux is available freely, but remember that you can modify it and sell it. So there are many companies that sell Linux distributions and when you buy it, you get support. SUSE, RedHat and Xandros are examples of linux distros that are sold commercially. But many of them also have free versions with stripped down features. But most Linux distros are free.

    @ Gillion: u laugh but I got copy here in my hand...based on what nder said...that's what Alteroo did...and them giving it away at the Expo!!!

    @ nder: So mek mi see if mi a get you...There is a version of Suse, Redhat etc... wit less features than the one being sold, for FREE...? And I can cop those and use them if I desire?
