    LOL.. hell would freeze over first. Uhmm, no need for a comment like that obviously its because of the money. I doubt this guy can cause microsoft to embrace opensource technology It goes against their core business.

    So what all those Gentoo fans gonna have to brag about now? The founder of the most hardcore distro gone to M$. I like the move. Hard work should always payoff.

    This is a good catch for Microsoft. Daniel Robbins is very experienced re: Linux.

    He wrote a number of the tutorials on the IBM Developerworks site.

    This is another classical example of "money talks". At the end of the day it's only the people that really believe in opensource that stay with it... as a side hobby. I mean come on, it's virtually impossible for someone to make money off opensource. That's why I see it as a hobbyist thing.

    i dont see how ms would uphold the concept and ideals of opensource though its really just not their nature. only thing this move will help ms understand thier opponent [ nix ] better. but what will that help them achieve in the end. the main thing that nix users want i dont think ms will ever be able to deliver.
