Is there a program that I can use to record flash animations off websites?

actualy I don't think so.. what I have known of is a flash decoder ... however if you want to get any flash animation off a site (without an outright hack) you can go use the "view source" option in IE .. locate the path to the .swf file and load it into it's own page .. then save that and you're criss

if you wanna edit the movie you'll need to find a flash decoder ... however that's stealing soo....

You may want to check out Camstudio's offerings.

Thanks for the feedback, but I found an easier alternative. I remember that flash anime had to load/download before it start playing, so all I did was to check the temp. Internet files folder for .swf extensions.

    New question:

    1. Is it possible for me to stich multiple flash anime together?
    2. Can I convert flash (.swf) files to .mov or .mpg?

stitching them is easy once you have the files. All you have to do is reimport those SWF files back into a flash file and then put them one behind the other in a timeline.

As for the conversions I think Flash already does the conversion from .swf to .avi so doing it from that to .mpg or .mov should be a breeze.

Re-importing the Flash movie doesnt show you the individual frames.

If the file is locked it may be hard to do so.

    okay...

Q1: edge is right and so is devnull... like I said earlier.. the swf file can be got w/out much work.. however you cannot edit the particular swf w/out first decoding it back to a .fla file.

what edge is saying is that you creat a new .fla file which uses your .swf files as movie clips.. what that'll do is produce a new .swf file with the "borrwoed" .swf files embedded into it.

if you do the above you can affect how each .swf file is displayed is your movie but can't actually edit the content....

Q2: NO (at least not within Flash). Because you cannot decode the individual .swf files you can't re-encode into diff plug-in spaces (.mov, .avi etc) However.. the new movie that you'll create with them embedded can be encoded into any plug-in space you like ;D

    hope this helps to clarify

Gotta second that one. Those karate ones are my favs.

As for stitching... As long as it isn't actionscripted, importation into an FLA document is much easier if you have a captured AVI file that isn't protected. That's my primary reason for using Camedia.
