    Question Why Alcohol 120%

Well, the first imaging software of a cd I used was, (you guessed it...)
    Clone cd.

Eventually, I got a new machine and couldn't find an installation for clone cd
so I was introduced to alcohol, a mean Alcohol 120% and I was just
wondering what's so different between Clone Cd and Alcohol 120%
and why did they call it Alcohol 120%???

I don't know y they call it Alcohol but trust me if u want to burn or copy a cd with a protection u can use this program and do just that, to me its a wonderfull program. so re the protection I think thats the main difference between it and clone. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, alcohol allows u to have multiple virtual drives, I don't recall clone having that option

Well truth be told....Clone CD has a maximum of 4 virtual drives that can be enabled in the new version. Also the difference with clone cd is that you the end user does not have to worry about setting the correct parameters when burning a protected disc. The software does everything for you..all you have to do is create the image or make a copy....I do see however in alcohol 120% where you have to set some parameters like read sub-channel data....use fast error skip..among others....but all in all they are 2 beautiful programs...that I use daily....in fact both of them are installed on my systems....

So what you guys are saying is that Alcohol 120% is no big deal,
it's just another imaging and burning program and there would be no
reason to use it over clone cd?

Not saying that at all....because I use both applications. CloneCD and Alcohol 120%. its just that I prefer CloneCD because it does everything for you the user in terms of setting the correct copy protections parameters before you image the protected disc.
