    Question converting Java aps

Is it possible to transform Java based programs to stand-alone programs, if so, how??

what do you mean by stand-alone program? is that you are trying to convert a bunch of java files to one executable file?

ahhhmmm, something like that, I have a program that I use very regularly but it runs off the Java platform (which sucks resource power) and I was wondering if there is any way for me to make it not be dependable on the Java platform, i.e. a stand-alone .exe file that uses its own resources etc.

There were a lot of tools from IBM and Microsoft to do that but there were all discontinued for legal reasons, therefore you wont get those to download, plus they are so old they may not support the java version of the java classes you have.
The only other tool I know can do what you want is JET. I havn't tried it because it cost some pretty pennys. There is a trial version but I don't know its capabilities. For free tools you can look at GCJ; currently only run on the linux platform, so if you use linux you make be in luck.

I sense that you are experiencing some level of frustration in using this java program. Can you elaborate some more in regards to the interface and any connections to data sources that this program is using?

no no no, I'm not frustrated with the program, I'm frustrated at Java's virtual machine, which at most times to me enjoy sucking and eating away at this techies systems resources, so I want the program to forget its Java background

Did you write the program yourself or did you purchase it?
Maybe if you gave some more details...who knows what can happen?

I am not suggesting that you are ranting, because a senior techie like yourself knows that never ever helps.

    Just some details.

nope didn't write it myself, its a freeware. I'm not really requesting just for the purpose of that one program as I know that there is the possibility of another program out there that uses the stupid Java platform, and seeing that the stupid java platform suck resources (well on my system) I'd want to release them from their bondage etc.
