Have any of you tried EasyPHP, Ive been using it for a couple of years to run Apache+MySQL+PHP and found no problems with it so far. Installation is a piece of cake.

A lot of extensions are pre-compiled such as the GD library, in order to activate them its just a matter of uncommenting the extension and restarting the server.

OK here's my 2 cents. I got them up and running after a few days of figuring out how they blend. Its been a while but there are a few things I remember that gave me hell.
    1. If your running Skype (maybe anything else that uses the same port), shut it down or Apache won't start.
    2. There is a php dll that you need to change in the apache 2.xx conf file for it to work (can't remember which one but google it, you'll find out). Maybe they fixed that in recent builds...
    3. If you can't get mysql to start the service after a few tries its a lot easier to just reinstall than try to figure out what went wrong. Once you have it up you won't have to worry about it again cuz it won't give anymore problems. When reinstalling remember to delete the mysql folder and manually stop all services because it won't delete everything when you uninstall and you'll be back to square one when u try configuring the instance again.

Thats all I can remember now but I'll post more when it comes back to me.

Oh I just remembered about the Zend Core. Easy to install and you have the option of having mysql and apache installed with it, plus it makes administration much easier. Basic package is really nice for anyone setting up a staging server.
