Think about Global warming where greenhouse emissions pollute the atmosphere.

This is a basic Layman physics of the phenomena.

Imagine two similar golf balls, but one is painted black while the other is white. Each ball is placed on a rotation mechanism, and is slowly rotated under the midday sun. Rotation rate is about 1 rev in 3 hours. Rotation axis is parallel to the earth's north to south.

At the end of the 3 hour period, you would expect the black ball to be significantly hotter. This is because the white color means more light is reflected and thus the white ball is relatively cool.

Furthermore and importantly, the temperature difference between the sunny side and shade side of each ball are not the same. The black ball will have a wider shift in temperature than the white ball, even though the black ball is warmer. Greater difference in temperature means greater energy available to do work at the surface.

Now imagine that the white ball is the Earth when the air is fresh and clean. Also imagine the black ball is the Earth when it is filled with smug and greenhouse gases.

Now, greenhouse gases have been generally rising in the atmosphere.

1) We are feeling hotter summers. Drought mash up some.
2) The Earth's temperature gradient has increased (delta °C). This means the atmosphere has more usable energy. Consider it as an engine of various Meteorological processes. Each process has more energy than it use to, and this increase is still occurring. Thus weather systems like Hurricanes can become more frequent and stronger.
3) People will be more uncomfortable. The human body has evolved to be accustomed to seasonal changes in temperatures, and a tolerance to a small (delta °C). To ever feel comfortable, we would have to evolve again for a bigger (delta °C), and that would take time, like generations. Furthermore, if the (delta °C) range keeps increasing, then the evolution would always lag. Prepare to be uncomfortable, or change your wardrobe.
