How to create Long-Range Wifi Signal in a Community
Hey guys, wondering if we can put our heads together on this. There is an inner city community with a serious internet issue meaning most residents cannot afford residential internet nor consistent mobile internet. The community centre does not have any internet or computers and it is not in a central location so most residents would not want to walk the distance to use the internet if it had it anyway.
I was thinking about paying for the internet for a resident who has a house at basically a major de facto "square" in the community and then try to create a mesh network or just buy a long-range router to try and get the signal to travel say 1 km so a good portion of the community can have access to free internet.
Questions: What do you guys think? Do you know of anyone who has done this before? How much total would this cost me?
Thanks for your help.
