Kind of small for a 1440p monitor. Ive you getting 23" stick to 1080p, if you getting 27" the get 1440p.

If your getting a monitor for mostly gaming go with Benq and for a balance for gaming and other stuff, Asus is good. Might have to do some tweaking though.

My PC was giving me some issues yesterday and i had to use integrated graphics and let me tell you this! Even on the desktop 144Hz makes a huge difference you wouldn't believe! i don't think i can go back to using a regular 60Hz anything!

Okay so i have set a budget of $350 so I'm not sure that can get me a 144Hz monitor, would you guys recommend a 1080p monitor at 144Hz or 1440p at 60Hz ?

Because i play competitive online games like CSGO and GTA online i need the 144Hz, So you can go with a 1440p 60Hz. I do suggest that you go with a more powerful GPU though, For that resolution.

Hard choice. What size are you getting in 1440p?

Well, I'm late to this party but since it ain't exactly summer yet I assume you haven't made your move yet so here's my 2 cents.

    Monitor:

Don't believe the hype. You don't need a 144hz monitor. 60hz is good enough for a casual gamer which you seem to be. Use the savings to invest in a IPS monitor with as much real-estate as you can get. This is critical if you are going to do video editing. TN screens are getting better but they still aren't good for colour accuracy.

    Storage:
Invest in NVMe SSD. Word of caution: there are SATA M2 and NVMe M2 drives. Make sure you get the NVMe M2. The benefits are significant believe me. Drastic difference especially if you play games that load multiple levels and in multitasking routines such as virtual machines.

    Video Card
A 1070 is plenty fast enough, especially if you're not going to exceed 1440P gaming. If you're not going to play the more demanding FPS like the newest Call if Duty or GTA V, you could compromise and get the 1060 or RX580. 40FPS Avg framerate is plenty good enough.

    CPU

Most will agree the 1600x is the sweetspot right now. You won't see much difference in your games between the 1600x and the 1700. You will see a difference in the video editing and it will give you bigger headroom for the VMs. You decide if the difference is worth the added $70.

    That's my 2 cents.
