    Question ZTE Axon 7

I am in the process of getting me a new phone and was thinking of getting the ZTE Axon 7, is there anyone that has any personal experience with it, what are the pros and cons in your experience (I don't want to buy based off YouTube video reviews).
I have the funds to buy a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge presently at $535 but trying to stay away from Samsung because every 3 out of 5 person I know has one. The Axon 7 is presently at $399.
What other phone in that price range would you recommend if you have had issues with the Axon 7?ZT

I'm kind of partial to the Honor series based on a few things. One is the ease of unlocking the bootloader and rooting. Another is the fact that - using the Honor - I find that with an SD card it saves EVERYTHING to the SD without marrying it to the file system as required by Android 6 and up. Love that feature.

Checking out the ZTE it looks really nice. One of the things to verify with any phone you're getting is if it will work on the bands in Jamaica. That's the main thing. Meaning - you may get voice and 2G, but you may not get 3G or 4G depending on the supported bands.
Knowing the solution doesn't mean knowing the method. Yet answering correctly and regurgitation are considered "learning" and "knowledge".

Thanks, do you know what bands Digicel operate on for their 4G network?

The ZTE Axon is a nice phone, certainly a standout from the legions of Samsung and Apple flagship phones. Digicel uses Band 17 on the 700MHz frequency. If you are considering switching or using Flow as you're Carrier, they use Band 4 AWS (1700/2100) frequency.

There you go. Should show what they use. May not be 100% accurate though, so some digging may help.

FLOW’s Superfast 4G LTE network uses the North American standard 700MHz band, the same band used by AT&T and Verizon in the US. It’s compatible with the majority of US handset standards. We’re also the only network in Antigua & Barbuda to have 100% coverage - indoors, outdoors and wherever you are on the islands.
It's been commonly said that if you get something from AT&T or Verizon it should work here still.

    As for Digicel.

The Digicel LTE network is operating on the 700 MHz band - globally recognised as the best spectrum for deploying the technology because of its superior in-building coverage and wider signal reach when compared with similar frequencies.
Your best bet is to call them still. Personally I'm just interested in the 4G and the LTE. For more info on the other technologies/speeds/bands do some searching.

Those should be fairly accurate I think.

As for the S7 Edge, buying the right no is kinda late for the model, to me it seems old, as in when it comes out how much people have it etc

Its the last best phone that Samsung made, with microsd of course

Why not wat for th s8, or even try out something like the c9 pro

I don't trust most other brands especially a brand like ZTE but that's just me, I'd find one on display and pay around with first because if you're used to a user friendly interface like Samsung sometimes going to another brand can seem like a major downgrade in itself, especially when certain simple tasks you could do on a Samsung seems like playing chess on another phone

I use Nova Launcher. While TouchWiz isn't bad, I don't see what the big deal is. I've had and used both iOS and different flavors of Android - Samsung included. Still rather a customized launcher. But then that's just me. The Honor was the last non-mainstream phone I've tried, and I doubt very much I'll go elsewhere. Unless one of the others also allows native saving of all media from apps like WhatsApp to the SD card, I'm not moving. Maybe if I go for a 64GB model it'll make some difference, but the option to still use an SD card should be there IMO.
