Google Launches Allo

Here comes another messaging app...

There's another new messaging app out today, but this one's worth a download.

While Facebook has been working to integrate bots with Messenger, Google went ahead and built a messaging app around the most useful bot there is: Google search.

Allo, which was announced in May but is now available for download, marries Google search with many of the fun features people have grown accustomed to using in other apps.

wanna jump on this, i hope they package it as a standard app like hangouts Et Al otherwise i dont think it will gain much traction going forward

App works great so far and google assist works well, kinda creepy predicting what to respond to someone when they message you but its fine.

Wondering if Google deep Mind is behind this google assistant

Previous users of Hangout , if they do not have the Allo app install, you can still message those users and they will get a notification and reply just as text.

Only thing i foresee is this not going further than hangouts did if they don't make strategized their product properly.

This is already way more fun to use than hangouts. The predictions are great it would be so cool (and creepy) if it learned patois though.

Gonna be using this as my texting app as much as i can
