Don't answer that... I am finished, I can't be bothered with this.
They use it just the same as I or anyone can use something without licensing it.

The CLC cooling on FuryX wasn't license when the card was being sold. So it happens.

Yea you better finish. Bootleg means fake, Mediatek isn't fake ARM.

    EDIT:

I am unable to find any use or proof of MEdiaTek not licensing ARM.

    Care to share your source?

I don't think I would spend 75,000.00 on a tablet. However, I would definitely stay away from the lower end devices.

If the company does not have a website where I can download updates, etc. then the device has a limited life. I tend to purchase Dell computers for the same reason. After all the DVD's have been lost/misplaced, I can still reinstall from scratch.

I don't know about the specifics of this case, but Chinese companies have over the years earned a bad reputation when it comes to intellectual property and copyright violations.

    No.

I will never tell anyone how to spend the money that they worked for. If you can afford it, and you think it is worth it, feel free.

A Samsung tablet with LTE sells for USD 500 normally and for USD 400 on sale at Best Buy. That is good enough for me.

I would purchase a Microsoft Surface as a business device. Something a mobile worker would use. I use a tablet for entertainment.

True. Surface is not good for entertainment. it is good for work, which is the only thing I turn my on for.

But then I think Android tablets and IOS tablets are toys. So I don't see myself buying either.

I gave them back and tell them to buy a new one, not a chinese one. A reputable brand one.

    Good idea AA.

As for netbooks. I have this.

    https://www.amazon.com/Asus-Laptop-I.../dp/B00PP9NCY2

Got it as a replacement for a work laptop. Only things on it are Office, antivirus and some portable applications that I run off a 32GB SD card that's in it.

All things are on the SD card that didn't require installation to the fixed drive (like Dropbox......) and it runs nicely. Wakes almost instantly. Boots fairly quickly. And plays back quite a bit of video without much hitching. Doesn't do so good on 8bit/10bit encodes though. Anyways.

For getting things done quickly it's good. Is it powerful? Nope. Definitely not. But it gets the job done. Fast. Light. 12 HR battery. And was on sale for USD$60. If all the person is going to do is watch things online and occasional work then this could do. If they need something for actual work, not this - something else.

I guess AA can close the thread since he got the issue mostly resolved. Would love to know that they got through though. The only way to fix some of those infections would be to re-flash. You can check those videos for some more info.

You can use those as a reference in future if needs be.
