Default Dolphin 5.0 has finally arrived(Gamecube/Wii Emulator)!

Dolphin emulator for PC has come a long way and has made a ton of improvements in majority of games that were giving issues emulating properly. The consoles may die, but the PC will make sure the games never die!

Here's the video release trailer with all the improvements made:

Do you need a controller to play these console games? Or can the mouse and keyboard work? Couldn't find that info on their site.

Ofcourse you can play with mouse and keyboard, but wouldn't recommend it for any game other than racing and rpg's that don't require much button pressing as ofcourse these are console games after all. I think the mouse would work best for the Wii games that support the Wii mote though.

Looks impressive, I have a backlog of Gamecube/Wii games that I wanted to finish but never got around to finishing, plus with the DX12 back end should be sweet, will definitely download. And just to preempt the holier than thou crowd I own all my games as in the physical disks.

Not familiar with that emulator, but I doubt it's better than Dolphin as this is the official Gamecube and Wii emulator.

I'm not interested in this generation of console games because well, either majority are releasing on PC anyways or they are just remakes and reboots of previous games. I do play psone, N64, Snes, PS2 and Nintendo DS games on my Android and PC from time to time because I still love my childhood games.

I also had some games I wanted to play from when, like the Metroid Prime series. I must say even to today's standard that game held up well and I was able to emulate it at 60 fps 1080p 90% of the game. I mostly play Smash Melee on it though, but I do want to finish the newer pokemon games on it and the other good RPG's eventually.

The Wii games seem to work the best now with the DX12 backend implementation:
