OK, so I poped in my sisters Digicel Sim, and went outside at the gate. And outside in the backyard, and this is what showed up

I am so happy that the LTE icon showed up, did not do a speed test. Ad no plan was activated, I was using pay per MB on her Sim, without doing any browsing. The service ate $70 from her account, out of $100. I can rest assured now, I am wondering if I should switch back to Digicel lol. Seeing that they have LTE right outside my gate (not inside the house). Or should I wait on Flow (which I plan on doing). If Digicel is here right where I am, then I believe Flow will be here with an even better LTE service.
Excellent! The RSSI reading you're getting says to me that you're not actually nearby a tower... -110dBm on Band 17 says that you're at least 1 KM or more so from a cell tower... Given your reading from FLOW on WCDMA 1900, FLOW would be better in your location (1900 MHz is similar to AWS in penetrative ability). Of course, not until they've upgraded your tower will you know for sure....
Ok, thats the reason for the awful signal and for the fact that I have to go outside to connect to LTE. I am hoping Flow gets here where I am soon. I was told that by the end of Summer all of Kingston should be fully covered with LTE. Base on the info you have seen from the photos. Could you check to see which tower I am getting service from for Flow. I would like to know where it is located. I am at Spanish Town Road, Kingston 11. Near Three Miles. Would love to know which tower or Towers serves my area.
Yeah, they mostly want people to see LTE or 4G LTE, so it was highly likely you would have some LTE indication. The US phone carriers just didn't want people seeing 3G after they started calling HSPA+ 4G. They went the extra ridiculous step of just demanding all 3G indicators become 4G indicators.
Yeah, I prefer to see the LTE icon for LTE. A lot of countries, especially in Europe and in some parts of Asia. The icon for LTE is 4G, while for 3G its H or H+. I am really happy that I am getting the LTE symbol, seeing that it was an Unlock Device. Where it was expected to be 4G, but I'm glad its the LTE symbol.
