The Evo 212 is not a terrible entry level cooler by any stretch. I would like to think with the thermal junction of 105C and me maxing at 65C I would say thats a pretty sweep spot to be in. With that said, I am buying a h100i just because I want to push my CPU a little more, plus the price is finally below $100 on amazon.

And Haswell processors run notoriously hot.

The Evo isn't terrible. it is entry level though. The "/" meant and or.

I have a H80i. luv it. H100i is great too. but Corsair don't make the best performing AIO water coolers, but I like that the lights are programmable along with fans via usb header that is attached to the pump.

I am surprised the pc even stays on at that temp. I thought the threshold was lower.

From what I am reading the bios for the i7 4790k sets the voltage way higher than needed for some reason.

    Lower it to 1.2v.

That cooler is clearly terribad also. Get a better cooler.

But drop your voltage first and see. Your temp shouldn't be over 60c.
when i bought this system last year i cheaped out on 2 things the cooler and the case i have come to regret them both. thinking of watercooler but that is another 100 grand! smdh

Use AS5 for thermal paste, never had bad reviews from anyone and ive generally gotten temps lower by 5-10c depending on the config i use it on
yeah arctic silver is the real deal was going to buy the 16g tube the other day when i was buying my hyperx cloud ii but i forgot about it now i need it.i should have went with the nactua d15 or the cryorig r1 instead of the h7 but i didn't want the budget to reach $2000 usd it's hard to explain to people why you spend 2 grand us on computer parts to play games! nobody nu understand not even me bredda dem who spend more time on it playing csgo!

at what load pezz? when am gaming with the cpu hitting like 50+% load it's like anywhere between 50c to 75c with gtav or arma 3 so far no other games that i play aren't that cpu intensive.

at one point in time me did a pree fi get the h80i but the performance was the same or a bit worst than the top air coolers so i didn't bother with it
