Keep it as a backup card. That is what I plan to do with the Rx 480 or Fury. So when something come out I can sell current and use backup until I buy future.

He referring to onboard graphics, but that's on older generation motherboards. This generation of motherboards don't come with onboard graphics anymore as the CPU's have them build in now.

More of that high priced low quality card I was talking about.
Nvidia GTX 1080, 1070 Display Port Incompatible With Vive HMD

Last week, a friend of mine contacted me looking for help getting his Vive working. He was trying to hook the Vive up to a GTX 1080 using the optional Display Port on the HMD's link box because the HDMI port on his graphics card was being used to display to a TV. I knew for a fact that this configuration works with a GTX 980 Ti because I’ve tested it already. We were both disappointed to find out that it doesn’t work with the 10-series cards.

its funny how these issues with pascal don't matter, yet the one thing that has almost no significance that was wrong with the rx 480 is talked about all over the place. When the fury x lacked hdmi 2.0 it was big news and talked about a lot, yet the couple (at least) connection issues of pascal are barely talked about.

AMD would get crucified if they pulled the founders edition crap, but not nvidia. If they showed 2 Ghz on reference card at 60 degrees then launched a throttling card, crucified again...

heavy gaming on a laptop is not fun. I did see a use case though. developers taking their games out for demos will want this.

    ridiculous price as usual
