    Default Overwatch

    Q. What type of game is Overwatch?
    A. Overwatch is a 6 versus 6, team-focused first-person-shooter, similar to Team Fortress with a wide array of playable characters with unique abilities.

    Q. What game modes does Overwatch have?
    A. There are 3 confirmed game modes in Overwatch. Payload: which requires one team to escort a bomb to a designated area before the time runs out. Point Capture: whereby one team attempts to capture control points on a map and the other team must stop them and a third hybrid mode which combines elements of Payload and Point Capture.

    Q. Who is making Overwatch?
    A. Overwatch is being developed by Blizzard the creators of the Warcraft and Starcraft game franchises. They’re one of the most successful developers in the world and very well regarded, famous for creating incredibly polished games which have years of replay-ability.

    Q. When is Overwatch being released?
    A. Overwatch is currently in Alpha testing which means it isn't currently open for anyone to play. There will be an open beta in the fall and the full game will be released (I'm guessing) another 3-6 months after that.

    Q. How much will Overwatch cost?
    A. Nothing has been officially announced regarding if Overwatch will be free-to-play with purchasable elements or a standalone purchasable product.

    Q. Where can I Sign up to the Overwatch Beta?
    A. Blizzard have launched a website where you can sign up to the Overwatch Beta, head to: www.playoverwatch.com and click the Beta button at the top. Though you’ll need to be signed up to Battle.net to register for the Beta.

    Q. Which social media accounts is Overwatch on?
    A. When a developer creates a new game nowadays they need to invest a large amount of time and money on social media. Overwatch is no different, there’s a Facebook page, Twitter and YouTube account plus a chat forum is inevitable -as all Blizzard games have an official forum- but it hasn't been created yet.

    Q. Will there be mod support for Overwatch?
    A. Based on previous Blizzard games, the chances of mod support seem very slim… at least in the short term. When a game is free-to-play generally there’s a higher level of control of the game by the developers so players can’t unlock purchasable features or items for free. Though in the long term, map making support seems a very real possibility.

    Q. What’s the back-story of Overwatch?
    A. According to the official press release: “Overwatch is set in a near-future version of Earth, years after the resolution of the global-scale “Omnic Crisis”. This crisis put all of humanity under threat of the “Omnic” robots, named as such by their very creators because of their artificial intelligence. To end it, an international task force called “Overwatch” was formed to protect humanity. In the years after the end of the Omnic Crisis, Overwatch remained as a peacekeeping force until, under accusations of corruption and sedition, the task force was eventually disbanded.” Source

    Q. How many champions are in Overwatch?
    A. There are 14 confirmed Overwatch champions, each with unique weapons, abilities and ultimates.

Blizzard has stated they want to add as many champions as possible while still making the game balanced.

    Q. Where can I learn more?
    A. The official link to Overwatch is www.playoverwatch.com and the most popular Wiki (Overwatch info-site) is www.overwatch.wikia.com.
