Hi TJ, been a while since I dropped by, I have a little poll I want you guys to leave a response on.

If you don't already know, Google is working on a new Modular Smartphone called Ara. More about Ara on my website www.modularandroid.com.

Simple yes or no, Link to Poll is here- http://www.modularandroid.com/poll-w...itial-success/

    Thanks for taking part!

Also, do stop by www.modularandroid.com for news on all types of modular devices.

I'd buy it. That way I can buy it cheap then buy the modules after. Just get a basic phone at first.
Knowing the solution doesn't mean knowing the method. Yet answering correctly and regurgitation are considered "learning" and "knowledge".

Wasn't there another company developing something like this? I completely forgot the name. I guess it didn't take off.

Yes, there is another device called the PuzzlePhone, more info here- http://www.modularandroid.com/the-pu...-need-to-know/

The PuzzlePhone is still in development, in fact, only a modular tablet went on pre-order some time last month and it is expected to ship between June and September. info on it here - http://www.modularandroid.com/preord...let-has-begun/

No modular devices have been released, however Google will launch a pilot program for Ara some time later this year in Puerto Rica, The PuzzlePhone should see a release later this year, as well as a modular smartwatch called Blocks.

Modular devices are the future! You heard it from me first!

LOL, I'm pretty sure the Note 6 will be better than the note 5 and then they'll make Note 7,8,9,10..................?

The beauty of modular smartphone is that you never have to replace you're device, just simply buy a new processor module if you're current processor module has a processor that you think is not fast enough, or get a new 4K display module if you're 2K display module is not to you're liking.

Plus, developers all over the world will be making modules, so we expect to see modules with technology that no other phone possesses. For example, Vestigen is working on a module that will be capable of testing for:
    HIV
    Malaria
    Influenza
    and more

    more info here: http://www.modularandroid.com/biosen...ee-group-ucsd/

Just imaging having a smartphone with a little module that you can use to test for these ailments without needing to go to a doctor?

You will be surprised to know how many companies are already working on modules for Ara: Marvel, Nvidia, Toshiba, Phison and more. Plus a whole lot of developers, young people like me and you who are into developing hardware are now working on modules for this upcoming device.

I guess you are going real niche on this one. good luck. I voted neutral. Doesn't really matter to me eitherway. Hard enough to keep dust out of regular phones muchless modular ones with so many parts.

This device wont last. The OEMs will find a way to kill it. This wud be the same as a man inventing a way to make cars run of water. The oil Industry wud kill this man and his invention.
