It's cheap and performs ok. Steam users aren't the most tech savy either. Intel IGP dominates... that says a lot.

True that. 750ti made turn any pc into a gaming pc.

Yup, that's going to be a major marketing for it now since it's within the range of most consumers.

980 OR R9 290. Such is the life of nvidia gamers. soon it will be 980ti or 290x.

Got in some division gaming at 1440p maxed out (ultra ssao shadows aa, object detail etc) and was getting 30+ fps outdoors and 40-60 "indoors" (mostly just less open places). This was while doing a huge copy from external to internal HDD tho. reserved VRAM was maxing out at 5.4GB that i noted. Almost always over 4GB. How long will 970 remain relevant?

Well in a few months time it will be a two year old hardware so not very long for those going VR. Might as well wait for Pascal or the new AMD lineup cause those are made for VR.

For 1080p gaming thought should be able to last another year or more if people don't mind reducing the taxing settings and may even last longer, as if you checked the graph posted earlier the 760 is older and still high on the chart. If you can afford VR then you can afford an enthusiast gaming PC.

In that case we never need to upgrade then. and no 760 was and is still garbage.

As for VR, I am not the slightest bit interested. Monitors stat in my comfort zone.

Wont be upgrading gpu soon either lol.

CPU, ram and maybe monitor. Need a 12 core cpu from either AMD or Intel. If AMD releases another flop I will aboard the intel train.

Not everyone can afford a $200-$300 video card to max settings in games. There are some people who are fine with 720p high settings to play their CS: GO and Dota 2, although the 760 can do 1080p as well in some triple A games.

Shouldn't need to upgrade anytime soon until those DX12 games start getting taxing towards GPU for some reason.
